What the Japanese sources say
Four shrines call themselves the ichinomiya of this province: Imizu Jinja (射水神社), Keta Jinja (氣多神社), Takase Jinja (高瀬神社) and Oyama Jinja (雄山神社). What is distinctive about this province is that the grounds themselves contradict one another.
Imizu Jinja says on its own website that in the shrine register of the Engishiki (延喜式, a law code completed in 927 that lists the official shrines), in the Izumo manuscript, it is recorded as the only myōjin taisha — the top grade of shrine in that register — among the thirty-four shrines of Ecchu Province. But Keta Jinja also says on its own website that it was entered in the register as the one myōjin taisha among the thirty-four shrines of Ecchu. Both say that they are the only myōjin taisha, and as they stand the two statements cannot both be true.
Imizu Jinja also gives as grounds the Hakusan no ki (白山之記), an Important Cultural Property designated by the national government, which records it as “the ichinomiya of Ecchu”.
For Takase Jinja and Oyama Jinja, no primary source setting out grounds for the title could be found.
Written from Japanese sources, each quoted. The Japanese page has the same discussion with the original wording.

Where this province is today
The ichinomiya of Ecchu Province now stand in Toyama. Provinces and prefectures do not line up — a province can be split across several prefectures, and a prefecture can hold several provinces.
