Nearest ichinomiya
The closest is Yakurahime Jinja, about 2.0 km to the north in a straight line, in the same province. After that come Kami Ichinomiya Oawa Jinja (12 km south-west) and Oasahiko Jinja (15 km north).
Straight-line distances between the shrines, not road distances. Across mountains or water, the drive is much longer.
Why this shrine is called an ichinomiya
No primary source found
We could not find any primary source calling this shrine an ichinomiya — not the shrine’s own site, and not any public body. We say so rather than assume.
Not found on the map published by the Ichinomiya Pilgrimage Association.
Awa Navi calls it “the ancestral deity of Awa” and gives its deity as Ōgetsuhime no Mikoto, but does not use the words “ichinomiya of Awa Province”. It is of the same deity line as Kami Ichinomiya Oawa Jinja, but no primary source describing the relationship between the two could be found.
