Tango Province Ichinomiya

Kono Jinja

籠神社

Kono Jinja is the ichinomiya — the leading shrine — of the former Tango Province, in present-day Kyoto. It has a car park (about 120 spaces), paid. Opening hours end at 16:30 (charm counter). Without a car, a local tourism body gives 1 route from a station; the station names are listed below. Its principal annual festival (reisai) falls on April 24 every year. We found 3 entries for the shrine in Japan’s national database of designated cultural properties. The nearest other ichinomiya is Izushi Jinja, 32 km to the west in a straight line.

Nearest ichinomiya

The closest is Izushi Jinja, about 32 km to the west in a straight line, the ichinomiya of Tajima Province. After that come Awaga Jinja (41 km south-west) and Wakasahime Jinja (54 km east).

Straight-line distances between the shrines, not road distances. Across mountains or water, the drive is much longer.
